New thefts of cattle in villages in Kamenica municipality (RTS)
Five cattle, belonging to two Serb families were stolen last night in the villages of Kamenica municipality. The damage would be even higher, if some of the village inhabitants did not react, RTS reports.
Three cattle were stolen in the village of Bosce, belonging to the Blasko Stojanovic family. This family is internally displaced and lives in a very dire economic situation.
There are 7 underage children in this family, while stolen cows were the only source of incomes to them, Serb representative from the local-self-governance told RTS.
Also, last night in the village of Grizime, near by Kamenica, a cow and a calf were stolen from Zoran Miljkovic family. This family has 13 members, 5 adults and 8 underage children.
Thieves did not manage to take away three more cows belonging to this family, since one of the family member after hearing dog’s barking got out from the house.
This and similar thefts often occur in the surrounding villages over the last three years, while the perpetrators remain unknown and unpunished.
This is the fifth theft in the village of Bosce in the last month.
The local Serb population believes that in addition to material damages, frequent thefts represent an organized form of pressure to force them to abandon their properties for good, RTS reported.
