Serbs from the north to participate in elections (RTS)

A the meeting between the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and mayors from four municipalities in the north of the province it was concluded that Serbs from the north will answer positively on state’s call to participate in Kosovo elections on 8 June.

Serbs from northern Kosovo will follow the call of the Serbian government on participation in parliamentary elections in Kosovo on 8 June, by which they will contribute to efforts in realization of the national and state interests of Serbia, reads the statement.

“Participation in these elections is a method of political struggle adjusted to the circumstances, whereas support to representatives of Serbs, and of Serbia, is civic and patriotic duty of every citizen of Serbia on the territory of the province,” concluded participants at the meeting in Kosovska Mitrovica.

The decision was also made that Serbs from northern Kosovo will follow the state’s call to carry out their duty and take part in the political struggle for realization of the state’s and national interests of Serbs, through voting on elections for the parliament of the provisional institutions of the self-governance in the province.

The statement further writes that they are ready to show responsibility and strength of the one and undivided state of Serbia.

After several days of boycotting of the election campaign, the Serbian List has commenced the campaign. At yesterday’s meeting in Ranulug candidates for MPs said that Serbs should turn out on elections in order to preserve their right on life and to prevent creation of armed forces of Kosovo.
