Dacic to Pristina: You are child of former US administration (Tanjug, TV Pink, B92)
Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic told TV Pink if Pristina wishes to reach a compromise with Belgrade it cannot put forward maximal requests, such as the one on Kosovo recognition.
Commenting on latest Brussels meeting and Hashim Thaci’s statements after it, Dacic said it was a performance for the Kosovo public, given that entire Pristina leadership came to Brussels.
“There is a story that Thaci wants dialogue and pledges for a compromise solution, but others do not support him. Now Federica Mogherini invited all of them to the meeting to see if they want to take part in the process or not,” Dacic explained, adding that the dialogue goes well.
Dacic also said he is not surprised by the news America is arming Kosovo security forces since USA is an old Kosovo ally, reminding that UN SC Resolution 1244 envisages KFOR is the only armed force in Kosovo.
He said this would be the topic of the meetings he would have with the USA administration officials next week. Dacic also told Pristina “Kosovo is a child of former USA administration – Clinton’s administration,” however the USA are now stepping out of a usual cliché and have no trust in EU, NATO and UN.
At the end, Dacic concluded it is the most important for Serbia to reach out to the USA administration and talk to them, same as it was the case with the French President Emmanuel Macron, in order to reach a compromise solution for Kosovo issue, Serbian media reported.
