PDK and LDK power-sharing agreement to be announced in the coming days (Gazeta Blic, Gazeta Express)
Coalition partners, Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), namely the parties’ working groups, are set to meet today and agree on division of ministerial posts. According to Gazeta Blic, it is almost certain and that the agreement will be reached before Wednesday when the PDK leader, Hashim Thaci, is to travel to New York to attend the UN Security Council session.
However, according to Gazeta Express sources, over the weekend, PDK and LDK made significant progress on defining their future partnership and managed to agree on how to divide the ministries. The deal stipulates that LDK will take the post of prime minister and all economy-related ministries, a total of seven ministries, while the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) will lead eight ministries, those relating to security and justice affairs, as well as the Ministry of Education. At the same time, minority communities are expected to lead four ministries.
