CEC removes denomination “Srbija” from Serb parties (Koha Ditore)
Koha Ditore reports that Central Elections Commission (CEC) has certified two political entities which applied for certification in local elections under the name “Srbija” only after they removed this denomination.
Initiative “Srbija Pasjane” which applied for Municipality of Partesh has been certified under the name “Gradjanska Srpska Iniciativa Pasjani” or “Serb citizens” initiative Pasjani. Meanwhile “Srbija Donja Budriga”, also for Municipality of Partesh, has changes its name into Gradjanska Iniciativa Srpska Donja Budriga or Serb citizen Initiative Donja Budriga.
It is expected in the same way to act also two other Serb lists “Srbija” and citizens’ initiative of Oliver Ivanovic with the name “Srbija, democracy, justice.” Civic initiative “Srbija who has applied to take part in local elections of 3 November, after the requests from CEC will change its name in “Serb citizen initiative.” There are also three other political subjects from which it has been requested to remove the denomination “Srbija” from the acronym of their parties if they want to be certified.
Border with Macedonia opens to goods and people (dailies)
Papers report that the movement of goods, vehicles and citizens to and from Macedonia was normalised in the midnight between Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday there was little movement in direction of Kosovo.
Minister of Trade and Industry, Mimoza Kusari-Lila called on the countries of the region to think twice before they decide to place blockades for Kosovo. “Next time when Macedonia or any other country in the region places blockades, it will think twice before doing so because such protection with blockades could go in the damage of the country which applies them,” said Kusari-Lila.
Jahjaga: Resolution 1244 is dead (dailies)
President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, said that UN Security Council Resolution 1244 in Kosovo is “dead” and has been so since 2008 when Kosovo declared independence which expressed the free will of Kosovo citizens. “Republic of Kosovo is a reality that is recognized by more than 100 countries in the world. We want to have good relations with Serbia and I am sure that the agreements will lead to the full normalization of relations,” said Jahjaga in an interview for Radio Television of Vojvodina.
Kurti: Kosovo, Republic of minority (Koha Ditore)
Vetëvendosje leader Albin Kurti has called Kosovo a “republic of minority” during the presentation of candidates for the mayors of municipalities and municipal assemblies in elections of 3 November. Kurti said that majority is not part of the governing in central level or at the level of Kosovo municipalities. According to Kurti, Kosovo declared itself a multi-ethnic state, instead of territorial integration is federalizing in ethnic territories. While criticizing talks with Serbia, Kurti said that as consequence of these talks a Serb entity is being installed in Kosovo.
