Petrovic and Jablanovic to set up new political party (Koha)
Kosovo Serb representatives, Aleksandar Jablanovic and Slobodan Petrovic, have launched procedures for setting up a new political party, sources told Koha. The two were seen at the offices of the Central Elections Commission (CEC) where the source said they submitted 579 signatures, mainly from Serbs in the northern municipalities, in an effort to get registered with the CEC. The move comes after Jablanovic tried to get back to the Serbian List as its leader but encountered opposition from his fellow-party members and the government in Belgrade.
Hoxhaj to Reuters: Serbia trying to dominate the region (RTK)
Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, told Reuters that the idea for a joint regional market is Belgrade’s attempt to dominate the region both politically and economically. “We don’t want to see Serbia that behaves in the style of Russia, trying to politically dominate the region,” Hoxhaj said.
Selimi: Thaci to keep his promise and resign (Klan Kosova)
Vetevendosje MP, Rexhep Selimi, said President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci did not keep his promise on creation of a Kosovo army but should keep the one he gave about stepping down in case armed forces are not created. “Knowing this man doesn’t keep his promises, we know he will do everything not to keep the one about resigning. Next thing we know, he will say he never promised to resign,” Selimi wrote on his Facebook account. Selimi’s reaction comes after Thaci decided to suspend his initiative for Kosovo Security Force transformation and pursue ways to do so through constitutional changes.
Deda: Not the first time Thaci failed to deliver on his promises (Telegrafi)
Former Vetevendosje now independent MP, Ilir Deda, said President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci’s backing down on his initiative to create armed forces should not come as a surprise because this is not the first time Thaci has failed to deliver on his promises. “Thaci’s individual initiative and treatment of Kosovo as his own private property has damaged the cause of army creation,” Deda wrote on Facebook.
