Trump: Israel and Iran agree to complete and total ceasefire (media)
All news websites in Kosovo covered a statement by US President Donald Trump on Monday evening that Israel and Iran have agreed to a complete and total ceasefire. The US leader had said the ceasefire would be a phased 24-hour process beginning at around 0400 GMT Tuesday, with Iran unilaterally halting all operations. Israel would follow suit 12 hours later. “It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “Upon the 24th hour, an official end to the 12-day war will be saluted by the world,” he said, adding that both sides had agreed to remain "peaceful and respectful" during each phase of the process.
Poll: Over 60 percent of people satisfied with Osmani’s work (Telegrafi)
The Debat Plus on TV Dukagjini published a poll by UBO Consulting about the perception of people in Kosovo about the work of President Vjosa Osmani. Namely, 17.8 percent of respondents said they were “very pleased” and 44.3 percent said they are “pleased” with the President’s work making up a total of 62.1 percent of positive support.
Rizvanolli: Those talking about energy mafia are spreading disinformation (media)
Kosovo’s caretaker Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, told a press conference on Monday that “those talking about an energy mafia are spreading disinformation”. “I have not talked about this because it is so unfounded that I did not find it worthy to comment on it. Some people are saying it all the time. The energy mafia in the Balkans might exist, and it might have a seat in Belgrade, but no institution of Kosovo has any ties or contacts with it. It is absurd to say because those that are making these accusations have no facts about their claims,” she argued.
Rizvanolli also said that those that make accusations about “an energy mafia” are spreading disinformation “for purposes that only they know”. “We cannot expect them to be concrete, but I would appeal to you [the media] not to take for granted everything you read but rather to refer to official information from the respective companies,” she added.
Rizvanolli also rejected as “disinformation” reports in some media that Kosovo was faced with an energy collapse, and said that the Kosovo Power Corporation was never out of production.
Kosovo’s trade deficit increases by 21.5% in May compared to last year (media)
Data published by the Kosovo Agency for Statistics on Monday show that the trade deficit for May 2025 reached 523.4 which marks an increase of 21.5 percent compared to the same period last year, when it was €430.6. The export of goods has marked a slight decline of 0.5 percent, reaching 81.4 million, while import has grown by 17.1 percent by reaching €604.7 million.
UNKT report: Tensions between Pristina and Belgrade remain high (Koha)
The news website published a summary report by the United Nations Team in Kosovo (UNKT) which notes that tensions between Pristina and Belgrade remain high despite years of efforts by the European Union to facilitate the normalization of relations. The report notes that the lack of progress in the dialogue has led to a crisis in the north of Kosovo. “Twenty-five years after the end of hostilities in 1999, there is scant progress towards reconciliation between Belgrade and Pristina and between the communities within Kosovo. The situation in Kosovo is still on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council. The crisis management mode characterising northern Kosovo hampers foreign investment, sustainable development, regional cooperation and integration,” it says.
The report also highlights issues that have contributed to blocking the process and increasing polarization between the parties. “Political deadlocks in the negotiations around the establishment of the Association/Community of Serb-majority Municipalities in Kosovo, mutual recognition between Belgrade and Pristina, and the non-signature by either party of the 2023 Brussels and Ohrid Agreements– have served to polarise rather than normalise relations. The EU holds Kosovo responsible for escalating tensions in the north and imposed measures in June 2023, including freezing development assistance to Kosovo. These measures by Kosovo’s largest donor have a stagnating effect on its efforts in attaining the goals of Agenda 2030,” the report notes.

Police searching for Arsenijevic on suspicion of weapons found in Zvecan (media)
Kosovo Police are searching for Kosovo Serb politician Aleksandar Arsenijevic in relation to the weapons found lately in Zvecan, while he says that he is unaware that law enforcement authorities are searching for him, the news website reported on Monday.
Kosovo Police Deputy Director for the north, Veton Elshani, said in an interview with Kallxo that according to their information, Arsenijevic is currently outside Kosovo. “One person is of interest to us for an interview. That person is Arsenijevic,” Elshani said.
Kosovo’s caretaker Minister of Interior Affairs, Xhelal Svecla, told reporters on Monday that Arsenijevic would be stopped the moment he enters Kosovo. “He is not in Kosovo. Law enforcement authorities are searching for him. The moment he enters the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, he will be stopped and arrested,” he said. “According to the information I’ve received, three of his properties were searched yesterday. Among other things, cryptocurrency equipment, a bulletproof vest, and several minor items were found, all of which indicate that he has been involved in criminal activity for a long time”.
Arsenijevic meanwhile told Kallxo that he is unaware that law enforcement authorities are searching for him. “I can only guess, but I’m hearing this from you now. I’m currently with my family, visiting relatives. But when I return, I would gladly report myself if the process is fair, as it should be. I have nothing to hide. I could even request an FBI forensic examination, an investigation involving all relevant actors. I’m also willing to take a polygraph test, because I’m certain that what happened there has nothing to do with me,” Arsenijevic said.

Serbian Democracy sent open letter to international community: We expect fair trial upon Arsenijevic’s return, not political repression (KoSSev, media, social media)
Serbian Democracy sent on Monday an open letter to the international community in relation to, as it was said, political purge against their party leader Aleksandar Arsenijevic, KoSSev portal reported. They said the “only crime” of their leader is his standing up for Serbian and other non-Albanian communities, requesting fair trial upon Arsenijevic’s return in Kosovo and not political repression.
“We, members and leaders of the Serbian Democracy party, address you with deep concern”, reads the letter.
“Aleksandar Arsenijević, our party president, is now the target of a political purge led by institutions under the Albin Kurti regime. His only “crime” is standing up for the Serbian and other non-majority communities in Kosovo.
Those who planted the heavy weaponry on Aleksandar’s property in Zvečan want to discredit us and eliminate our party from Kosovo’s political landscape, as we are the only Kosovo Serb opposition party that has publicly opposed Kurti’s anti-Serb and anti-democratic policies. From our party’s beginnings in December 2023, Serbian Democracy has stood alone in challenging the discriminatory and illegal practices imposed on the ground, including evictions of Serbian families, demolition of Serbian homes, sexual harassment of Serbian girls and women, and police brutality against minors and other citizens.
All our protests have been peaceful and democratic, and consistently so. Where others stayed silent or compromised, we spoke up. Now, for that courage, Aleksandar is being silenced. This is not just an attack on one man or one party. This is a warning to all Serbs in Kosovo: 𝘋𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘰𝘶𝘵, 𝘥𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵, 𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵.
We call on the international community and embassies to urgently react — not just with mere statements, but with concrete action. Democracy is not measured by words, but by what is done when it is under threat”, the letter further said.

Prosecution without details on Arsenijevic because of ‘sensitivity of case’, police announces apprehension (Alternativna)
Following Kosovo police action in which a large chase of weapons had been found in a horse barn owned by Serbian Democracy leader Aleksandar Arenijevic, an investigation had been opened, Alternativna.com portal reported.
Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica told the portal they are undertaking measures, but could not reveal details because of “sensitivity of the case”. Kosovo police said Arsenijevic will be apprehended if he comes to Kosovo in order, as it was said, to be interviewed in relation to the case. Meanwhile, Serbian Democracy sent an open letter to the international community requesting a fair process for their leader and not political repression.
In a media inquiry sent to Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica, the portal asked the following questions – what is Aleksandar Arsenijevic being charged for, what is the procedure they follow, whether he will be arrested and what is the procedure in case he does not return to Kosovo, as well as what prosecution does in relation to this case?
In a brief response to the portal, the Basic Prosecution said that “measures were taken and are being taken in relation to this case, however, because of the sensitivity of the case and in order not to harm the investigation, we can not provide more information at this stage”. The prosecution added that acts of the prosecutor will be in line with applicable law, same as for any other criminal case.
Kosovo police confirmed to the portal Arsenijevic will be apprehended in case he comes back to Kosovo. “He is invited by the police to give a statement. In case he crosses the border, he will be apprehended, as the police are looking for him. After that, giving a statement in the police station will follow, while the prosecution decides about further steps. We do not claim that weapons are his, but he needs to clarify how come these weapons were at his property”, Kosovo police deputy commander for the region North, Veton Elshani told the portal. He added that the Serious Crime Department from Pristina took over the case because of the quantity of the weapons found.
“I reiterate, we are not assigning detention, we take the statement first, and prosecution decides about further steps”, he also said.
Return home: A dream without foundation or roof (KoSSev)
There was at least hope in the ashes.
“Who is Milanka Terzić?” a border police officer asked on a packed bus. I stood up. “Take your things and step out”, he said. I was stunned. Two hours later, a special police unit arrived. One of them asked me, “Sister, would you like a glass of water?” No, I said. Show me why I’m being arrested. They took me from the southern part of Mitrovica to Istok. For the third time, they put handcuffs on me. A police inspector recognized me. “Milanka, what is this all about?” he asked. I didn’t know. He looked at his computer and said: “Well, well, you’ve been charged—war criminal, serious offender, Serbian nationalist”.
These fragments from 2017 in the life of 73-year-old Milanka Terzić from Istok may have long faded from the public eye, but they remain etched in the memory of her compatriots.

Court in Mitrovica hands down prison term for 2022 journalist attack (KoSSev, media)
A man identified by the initials I.M. was yesterday sentenced to one year and five months in prison for causing minor bodily injuries during an incident that occurred in November 2022 in North Mitrovica, the Basic Court in Mitrovica announced. According to the court’s statement, the incident involved a cameraman from the Insajderi portal who was assaulted while filming a developing situation near the main bridge in North Mitrovica, KoSSev portal reported.
The cameraman, together with his colleague V.D., had arrived at the scene to allegedly conduct an interview near the Ibar bridge. Upon arrival, they reportedly saw a group of children coming from the northern part of Mitrovica and shouting for help from Italian KFOR troops. “J.M. ran ahead to see what was happening. After hearing an ambulance siren, he began recording the scene with his phone approximately 10 to 15 meters from where the ambulance had stopped“, the statement reads.
The attack occurred in Vlade Ćetković Street, at a moment when the Insajderi cameraman had diverted from his original assignment to document an unfolding incident. According to the victim’s own account, he wanted to film an incident taking place in this street, where a young ethnic Albanian had also been beaten.
At the time of the incident, a KoSSev reporter on the scene witnessed I.M. helping the injured youth, holding him upright and assisting until medical help arrived, alongside a woman who poured water on the boy’s face. Nevertheless, I.M. was first detained in connection with the case in January 2023 at the Jarinje crossing point. He was released shortly after hearing. His attorney at the time claimed that I.M. had no involvement in the actions he was being accused of by Pristina authorities.

Vucic: Serbian ammo exports completely stopped (Tanjug)
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday Serbian ammunition exports had been completely stopped and that all ammunition was going solely to Serbian army barracks and military stocks, Tanjug news agency reported.
"What we were exporting after October 7, after the terrorist attack, is one thing, and today (after the outbreak of the Israel-Iran conflict) is another", Vucic told reporters. "We have now literally stopped everything and we are supplying our army", he added, responding to an N1 query about ammunition trade with Israel and Serbia's neutrality in the Israel-Iran conflict.
"So, we are not exporting anything now, we have now stopped everything", Vucic said, noting that he would explain the situation to the presidents of Iran and Israel, Masoud Pezeshkian and Isaac Herzog. "I will explain everything to President Pezeshkian. I have also spoken with him in the Iranian building in New York after the exports, and I will speak with him again in two to three days. I am also in contact with Herzog. I am looking after the security of this country, but I am also looking after (defence industry) workers", Vucic said.
Vucic: Serbia wants peace in Middle East, closest relations with US (Tanjug)
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday Serbia wanted peace in the Middle East and that both Israel and Iran were its friends, noting that Belgrade was seeking the closest relations and a strategic partnership with Washington even though the US had breached international law by attacking Iran.
"We want the closest relations with the US, a strategic partnership, we are a small country. Have they (the US) trampled international public law? No doubt about it whatsoever. We have spoken about that - openly - also when it was about some other countries, because what is left for a small country to speak about but about respect for international public law and the UN Charter?" he told reporters after a session of the extended Collegium of the Serbian Armed Forces chief of general staff.
