UN Security Council to debate on Kosovo on Thursday (Radio Free Europe)

The United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, has condemned the violent actions of opposition parties in the Kosovo Assembly. In a 17-page report that will be presented at the United Nations Security Council session on Thursday, Ban condemns "the use of violence and intimidation by the opposition parties to impede the normal procedures of the Kosovo Assembly". The report further notes that physical attacks by opposition members against the Prime Minister and members of his cabinet are unacceptable. Ban calls on all political actors to refrain from rhetoric and actions that are not compatible with the principles and norms of a democratic and civilized society. “Such actions damage the people’s trust in these institutions and they also damage Kosovo’s image in the world,” Ban said.
