UN Security Council to debate on Kosovo on Thursday (Radio Free Europe)

The United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, has condemned the violent actions of opposition parties in the Kosovo Assembly. In a 17-page report that will be presented at the United Nations Security Council session on Thursday, Ban condemns "the use of violence and intimidation by the opposition parties to impede the normal procedures of the Kosovo Assembly". The report further notes that physical attacks by opposition members against the Prime Minister and members of his cabinet are unacceptable.

Zarif appointed UN Special Representative for Liberia (Klan Kosova)

The United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Farid Zarif, of Afghanistan, as his Special Representative for Liberia and head of the United Nations Mission there, known as UNMIL, Klan Kosova reports. Currently the Special Representative and head of the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), Mr. Zarif has extensive experience in diplomatic, international and United Nations affairs, having served in various positions inside and outside Afghanistan.
