Police arrest Vetevendosje’s Xhelal Svecla (Telegrafi)
The news site reports that Kosovo Police arrested Xhelal Svecla, Inspection Director at Pristina municipality and member of the Vetevendosje Movement, this morning. Media recall that the prosecution had issued an arrest warrant for Svecla over an action by the Vetevendosje Movement that resulted in the demolition of EULEX vehicles in 2013. The Vetevendosje Movement issued the following press release: “This criminal government is trying to oppress popular resistance by all means and also to implement Serbia’s projects in Kosovo and to give away land to Montenegro. Isa Mustafa is the chief responsible for the threats against the state of Kosovo. Isa Mustafa is also the chief responsible for urban crime in Pristina. Xhelal Svecla and the Vetevendosje Movement have denounced this crime. Over 80 files have already been sent to the prosecution, but the courts are not handling them because they have been seized by the current government. Svecla’s arrest is aimed at impeding his work and making way for organized crime and corruption by the exponents of LDK and PDK. We will continue our righteous path until the annulment of agreements that are damaging for the Republic of Kosovo and until the removal of this anti-constitutional agreement.”
