Maja Kocijancic, a European Union spokesperson, said that new Kosovo Government should be formed in line with its Constitution, the Kosovo online website carried the Gazeta Express report on Friday.

She added the EU was looking forward to the assembling of Kosovo’s new Government, probably made up of the members of the Vetëvendosje (Self-Determination) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), the two parties which ended neck-to-neck in the Sunday’s general elections.

In a press conference today, Vetevendosje officials accused the Constitutional Court of bias for ruling that the government’s decision for salary increase does not represent a constitutional violation. MP Albulena Haxhiu said the decision of the government of Kosovo for increasing its staff’s salaries is a criminal act and it interferes in the Assembly’s competencies.

Leader of Vetevendosje, Albin Kurti, called for the resignation of Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj saying he is not a genuine prime minister and has only been “rented out” to the post by President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci. “Thaci has rented out the prime minister. Haradinaj should resign and we should head to elections,” Kurti said. He said that if Haradinaj doesn’t resign, he should at least initiate a motion of no-confidence.

Albulena Haxhiu, Vetevendosje MP and chair of the Assembly legislation committee said the government has declared the anti-corruption strategy to be effective without the Assembly actually endorsing it first. In a Facebook post, Haxhiu said the Anti-Corruption Law states that the government presents the strategy to the Assembly for approval, a step which, according to Haxhiu, the government has not adhered to. “This is unacceptable, unlawful, and someone has to be held accountable for it,” Haxhiu wrote.

Leader of Vetevendosje, Albin Kurti met with leader of LDP, Cedomir Jovanovic in Pristina, Kurti wrote on his Facebook profile.

Kurti said Jovanovic played decisive role in sending Slobodan Milosevic to The Hague, and added they spoke about political developments, social and economic conditions, the situation in the region as well as challenges in European integration.
