Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama met in Tirana today his Kosovo counterpart, Isa Mustafa. This is Prime Minister Mustafa’s first official visit to Albania since taking on his post. The two prime ministers spoke about strengthening economic cooperation and the upcoming joint meeting of the two governments. In a press conference after the meeting, Mustafa expressed appreciation for valuable support Albania has provided to Kosovo. He said Kosovo needs new recognitions. “Your support to recognition of Kosovo from other countries is exceptional because Kosovo needs at this time to be recognised by more countries, especially by the EU countries that have not yet recognised it,” Mustafa said.
Rama said the joint meeting of the governments will take place on 23 March in Tirana and will focus on fostering of cooperation in a number of areas through agreements expected to be signed on the occasion. “We share the view that Albania-Kosovo relations are excellent and fraternal and that strategic partnership between our two countries institutionalized in the Prizren meeting on 11 January 2014 is a fundamental instrument that will continue to determine the weight of the Albanian factor in the region,” said Rama.
