German MP: Serbia has not met the requirements (Blic)
MP of Christian Democrats (CDU) in the Bundestag Johan Vadepul said that Serbia has not fulfilled the conditions of the road to the EU. In order to open the first chapter, it is important to complete the process of normalizing relations with Kosovo.
Vadepul said that his parliamentary group CDU CSU is not completely happy with fulfillment of the requirements that were set before the Serbian government, among other things, the relationship with Kosovo and the attack on the embassy of Germany (2008). Six years after that incident the perpetrators have not been found.
He stressed that it is important to complete the process of normalizing relations with Kosovo before opening of the first chapter. Vadepul said that the agreements reached in Brussels in April 2013 still are not fully implemented, although, Serbian side is not the only one responsible for it. He added that Serbia is still a key player in the process. He added that the resolution of the German Bundestag requires beginning of the talks with Serbia with chapters 35 and 32, related to Kosovo and financial control.
Johan Vadepul, is a member of the "hard-stream" in the Bundestag, which “created seven German conditions for Serbia on its path towards the EU.”
