Vucic has no time to meet Nikolic over Kosovo platform (Danas)

According to Danas’ source close to the Serbian Government, due to obligations and planned visits it is not likely that the Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, will find time to hear a solution for Kosovo, before his trip to Brussels on 9 February, which has been prepared far from the eyes of the public by the President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic.

“Until 9 February the Prime Minister will have four official visits abroad. After his visit to Finland, Vucic will travel to Vienna, than Sweden and in the end to Stuttgart. After all, Prime Minister travels to Brussels. Due to all planned obligations, it is not known whether a meeting with the President Tomislav Nikolic will take place,” said a source close to the Serbian Government.

When asked when will public be able to see a platform on Kosovo, Nikolic said that he will have close and intense discussions with the Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, about the matter, because such document requires general consent, or at least consent in the parliament on what the government will propose in behalf of the President.

For the time being, Nikolic has discussed a Kosovo platform only with the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Irinej. Representatives of the opposition say that it would be good if they would be invited by Nikolic for consultations on Kosovo platform. And while some expect the invitation, others are not that optimistic. Paper didn’t manage to receive the answer form the President’s cabinet whether they will be invited for a meeting at the presidency.
