Only compromise possible for Kosovo (Tanjug, RTS, Blic, Vecernje Novosti)
Serbia considers Kosovo as an unalienable part of its territory and wishes to continue the search for a solution to the Kosovo issue through peaceful means only, compromise and agreements, Chairman of the Serbian parliament Committee on KiM, Milovan Drecun said in the talks with Chairman of the Russian State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee Alexey Pushkov.
Serbia's foundation for the Kosovo's status rests on UN Security Council Resolution 1244, Drecun underscored during the meeting of the Serbian parliament Committee on KiM and the delegation of the Russian State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee.
In the Brussels process, aimed at normalisation of relations, Serbia has done all it can to help achieving a solution that would contribute to stabilisation of the situation in Kosovo, Drecun said. As a disturbing fact, Drecun noted obstruction of Pristina, embodied in the formation of the Community of Serbian municipalities.
Pushkov underscored that the stability in the Balkans bears exceptional importance because instability in the region often affects the rest of the world. Speaking about the unilaterally declared independence of KiM, Pushkov said that the current status of Kosovo, rendered by the international law, was relative and not an absolute.
