The quality of translation of Kosovo laws into Serbian language is not satisfactory said participants at the conference in North Mitrovica, organized by the NGO Aktiv, where a brief resume of the practical policy on language rights of Serbian community in Kosovo was presented.

“The Office of Language Commissioner has presented its opinion on the quality of translation in its report published in 2013, which states that there are numerous mistakes which could unfortunately lead to incorrect interpretations  of laws,” said Language Commissioner Slavisa Mladenovic. The policy paper concludes that insufficient number of translators in central Kosovo institutions is one of the main reasons contributing to the poor quality of translations of Kosovo laws.
