Hahn on Chapter 35 and the referendum in Republika Srpska (Dnevnik)

As Dnevnik learns, EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn will arrive in Belgrade on Friday. The source of Dnevnik says that one of the main themes of Serbian officials in talks with Hahn will be progress made in Chapter 35 regarding the normalization of relations with Pristina.

On the occasion of the arrival of European Commissioner in Belgrade, a political analyst Dragomir Anđelković says to Dnevnik that Johannes Hahn definitely comes with the intention "to pressure" but that this pressure will not be strong, because, EU is aware that this would be counterproductive.

- However, in the context of regional developments, the referendum in RS and the events in Kosovo, the EU will certainly try to persuade Belgrade on new concessions - estimates Anđelković. - In addition, they will also ask Belgrade to be a factor of reconciliation. Belgrade will listen to what Hahn has to say, and it will attempt to act with a conciliatory tone. I believe that Serbia will emphasize that and until now it has been a calming factor in the situation. They will also say that if EU wants to stabilize the situation, they have to put pressure and on the other sides, not only on us - said Anđelković.
