Rašić: Law on Trepča to go back for revision (Blic, Srna)
MP of the Serbian List in the Kosovo Parliament Nenad Rašić told Srna that the problem of Trepča can be solved only through negotiations and with experts' arbitration, and stressed that the Law on Trepča must be returned for reconsideration.
He recalls that Serbian MPs have filed a request to review the constitutionality of the law, because the Serbian community had not been consulted.
- I'm not sure that the Constitutional Court of Kosovo will accept our initiative, but I am sure that our initiative will stop the usurpation of Trepča, and that its enforcement would be postponed - says Rašić.
The Law will be returned to the parliament for reconsideration and the procedure for the adoption of such important strategic Law will be fully respected, and the Serbs and all the stakeholders will have the opportunity to comment on its content, Rašić is confident.
- It must be taken into account the half of the Trepča capacity, the north of Kosovo, and that there is functioning a separate company Trepča North. This fact no one can bypass - said Rašić.
In this context, he said that the Constitutional Court must return the law for reconsideration, and refusal of the President of Kosovo should be expected to sign the entry into force of the Trepča Law, because if there is a commitment to respect the law and the rule of law, especially of minority communities, the president must not put a signature on such a discriminatory law.
- The Law on Trepča must be adopted in accordance with the feasibility study, because without that document with precise clarification of what belongs to whom, the Law on Trepča cannot be carried out, nor will anyone be ready to invest capital in the exploitation and development of Trepča's capacities - says Rašić.
