Vucic and Thaci holding informal meeting in Brussels (B92)

Vucic will travel to Brussels at the invitation of the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Federica Mogherini.

Mogherini, who will host the meeting, announced they will "exchange opinions on the continuation of the dialog, and the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as overall developments in the Western Balkans."

The last meeting within the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, either at political or technical level, was held in Brussels in early February, and in the meantime, presidential elections were in Serbia and early parliamentary in Kosovo and Metohija.

Two high-level political meetings attended by both presidents and prime ministers were held early this year in order to calm tensions caused by the stopping of a Serbian train headed from Belgrade to Kosovska Mitrovica, as well as the issues related to the bridge on the Ibar, and the arrest of Ramush Haradinaj in France.

At the time, and last week in Dubrovnik, ahead of his meeting Mogherini, Vucic said that it is important every time negotiations are held "because the dialogue lowers tensions on the ground."

Mogerini has announced that the topic of the meeting will be continuation of the dialogue, but also implementation of previous agreements. "Obviously there are still some electoral activities to be honored. I expect a new development soon regrading the dialogue," Mogherini underlined.

Asked by a Kosovo journalist whether "Kosovo and Serbia have a chance to progress on the European path without mutual recognition," Mogerini said that the goal of the dialogue was to normalize relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

"I saw in these two and a half years, in which I have worked closely with the leaders of both sides, a strong commitment and dedication, as well as huge steps forward. They know very well that the future of their countries and integration in the EU are tied to progress in the dialogue, and above all implementation of agreements," Mogerini said.

She added that she "believes in the good future of the dialogue and its good results."

Director of the Serbian Government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric expects that today's meeting will bring "relaxation of tensions as well as work on implementation of what has been agreed."
