Serbian Socialist Party (SPS) to run in local Kosovo elections independently (SRNA, Blic)
Provincial Board of the Serbian Socialist Party (SPS) for Kosovo made the decision to run independently in the forthcoming local elections in Kosovo, scheduled for 22 October, SRNA news agency and Blic daily reported.
“We have decided to run independently in the forthcoming local election in all 10 Serb-majority municipalities, other municipalities where Serbs are living and where the Provincial Board has its network,” their press release stated.
It further reads that members of the SPS are not content with the relation of the coalition partners at the local level, adding they respected coalition agreements so far and made utmost efforts during pre-election campaigns, only to face later unfair attitude of their partners.
Their main goal, according to the press release, is to enable survival of the Serb population in Kosovo, to open new employment opportunities and create conducive conditions for the return of displaced Serbs.
