Oliver Ivanovic: Thaci in parallel reality, Kosovo independent to extent Serbia agrees with (Tanjug, Novosti, Kontakt Plus Radio)
Oliver Ivanovic, leader of the Civic Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice (GISDP) commented on statements Hashim Thaci made yesterday saying that “historic agreement” would be reached between Serbia and Kosovo “by recognizing reality.” Ivanovic called these remarks nice phrases, typical for the Albanian side, Serbian media reported.
The reality of Hashim Thaci, in what 99 percent of Albanians in Kosovo believe, is not as same as ours, and there are those who are aware it is only a fiction, Ivanovic went on saying.
“Kosovo is independent to the extent Serbia agrees with, and they become aware of it every time when they ask to join the international organizations,” Ivanovic added.
Commenting on Thaci’s statement on “historic agreement” between the two sides, Ivanovic said these are a nice phrases, but this way he is also announcing the end of a dialogue and he is not authorized to decide about it.
Still, according to Ivanovic, Thaci spoke about something that is partly true, as dialogue is not popular, but Ivanovic thinks it is the only chance to resolve certain issues. However, there are many topics that should be negotiated about and Pristina is not asked what will be on the table.
He further said that Thaci’s statement present “a typical statement of the Albanian side.”
Thaci would most probably remain responsible for the Brussels dialogue as there is uneasiness among the Serb people when one speaks about level of the Prime Minister, because it means they would have to talk to Haradinaj.
Regarding formation of the Kosovo Army and Community of Serb Municipalities, Ivanovic concluded Serbs are the ones who have the key.
