"Spain is our great friend, we listened to its request" (Tanjug, B92)

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic confirmed on Monday that she would not take Belgrade's letter to the EU to Brussels with her, when she travels there on Tuesday. The letter regards the European Commission' stance on the recent independence referendum in Catalonia, and on Kosovo.

"We had a request from Spain not to send the letter. Spain is our great friend and partner, we also had great support from them for (preventing Pristina's membership in) both Interpol, UNESCO, and (Serbia's) European integration, so we will decide, in cooperation with them, how to proceed," she said. According to Tanjug, she "revealed" to reporters in Belgrade the content of the letter, which stresses that the European Commission "must be neutral."
