Serbian FM receives message from Russia's Lavrov (B92, Tanjug, Srbija.gov.rs)

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has sent holiday greetings to First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic.

In his message dated December 21, Lavrov said that Moscow is ready for further close cooperation "on the Kosovo issue." The Foreign Ministry announced in a press release late on Tuesday that Dacic was presented with Lavrov's New Year and Christmas (to be celebrated in Serbia and Russia on January 7) message during a meeting in Belgrade with Russian Ambassador Aleksandr Chepurin.

Serbia and the Western Balkans have a clear European perspective and France will continue its support to the regional European path, Franch official has said on Tuesday.

Jean Bizet, a member of the Senat of France, also said that it was necessary for Belgrade and Pristina to continue the dialogue and, with the EU stronger support, to find a solution acceptable to both sides.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic confirmed on Monday that she would not take Belgrade's letter to the EU to Brussels with her, when she travels there on Tuesday. The letter regards the European Commission' stance on the recent independence referendum in Catalonia, and on Kosovo.
