Serbian List (SL) MP in Kosovo Assembly Igor Simic told TV Pink this morning that SL expects the representatives of the international community to react to the latest threats of Pristina regarding the arrests, and pointed out, “it is unacceptable to threaten the legal and legitimate representatives of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija”.

“Based on what would they arrest anyone? Because he/she acts in accordance with the laws, with the obligations that Pristina did not want to fulfil?” Simić told TV Pink.

“We’re forming the ZSO in line with the Brussels Agreement, which, according to Kosovo institutions is an international legal act, adopted by the Assembly of Kosovo by a qualified majority, which means this act has a greater legal force, even bigger that the Kosovo Constitution,” Simic explained.

He said the independent establishment of ZSO was a forced move for the Serb representatives, but in accordance with the wishes of Serb people in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.

“They have beaten Marko Djuric and all others in Mitrovacki dvor without any reason. It has to be noted that this was done without a legal bases, as well as the announcement of arrests,” Simic added.

“Someone has to tell them enough is enough, because these people are not doing anything that is unlawful,” he said.

Simic also talked about the reactions of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija, saying that the Serbian List had fulfilled what was expected of them - to leave the Kosovo government and start forming ZSO.

Simic said he hoped there would be no incidents in the Mitrovački dvor, as today there would be a joint session of councillors of 10 Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo and Metohija, starting at 12:44.

“I hope they will respect the law and the rights of people to think differently and have their own political beliefs and act in accordance with them. What happened two days ago is a brutal violation of all possible legal regulations, even those enacted by the Kosovo institutions (...), Simic added.
