“Mirdita” festival is approaching, provocations from both sides (BETA, B92, TV N1, KoSSev)

“Mirdita” festival is approaching, while tensions are already running high. Serbian Radical Party announced they would not allow festival, while from Kosovo say they were not allowed to enter flags to the central Serbia, B92 reported.

Serbian media further reported that Serbian police searched the bus carrying artists from Kosovo who are supposed to take part in a festival at Merdare crossing point.

As it was announced, some photographs, including one depicting Albanian and Kosovo flags and one where the inscription KLA is visible were kept, under the justification that they promote independence of Kosovo. TV N1 reported that Serbian Interior Minister, Nebojsa Stefanovic said material and photographs containing insignia of KLA are banned in Serbia, since KLA is considered as terrorist organization.

KoSSev portal, meanwhile reported artists continued their way to Belgrade, under police escort, while some Serbian opposition parties announced protests, despite the decision of the Serbian MUP to ban announced protests.
