The Serbian police got its third Airbus H-145M helicopter on Tuesday at a ceremony at Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla airport, TV N1 reports.
Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic told the ceremony that the two Airbus helicopters which were delivered earlier are in use by the MUP helicopter unit, enhancing the capabilities of the police and allowing rapid response in emergency situations.
Leader of the Serb European Movement from Kosovo and Metohija, Rada Trajkovic stated the police said she would be offered protection, adding she expects to see what kind of protection she will get, Danas daily reports.
Armin Alibasic, a member of a Wahhabi movement dubbed "Dava Tim Centar" who was arrested on January 13 in Novi Pazar, was preparing a terrorist attack. According to Blic, Alibasic was prevented in this attempt by officers from the Security and Information Agency (BIA) and by the police.
Alibasic spent several hours before being arrested in a village near the Serbian Orthodox Monastery of Djurdjevi Stupovi, where he had been practicing martial arts in previous years, as well as tactical military training, camping and survival.
Serbia’s Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said on Tuesday that police from the northern city of Novi Sad arrested four people suspected of attacking two young Albanians over the weekend, N1 reported.
Stefanovic said that police found the clothing the suspects wore at the night of the attack, adding that that was important for the further investigation.
The EULEX mission said on its Facebook page on Wednesday that it had organized a meeting of the Kosovo and Serbia police to discuss the investigation into the killing of Kosovo Serb political leader Oliver Ivanovic.
