Dacic: I do not know if there are 20 alive witnesses (RTS)
Asked if he considers the Special Court for KLA crimes would manage to safeguard 20 witnesses in the case against Ramush Haradinaj, given it isn’t known what happened with 30 others, Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said he does not know if there is this number of alive witnesses, RTS reported.
“I do not know if there is this number of alive witnesses, I do not know what this case is based upon, but in any case, they should pay attention knowing who they have to deal with,” Dacic said.
He expressed hope KLA crimes will be punished, regardless of how much reservation he has towards the international courts that prosecuted Serbs only, and no other people in the territory of former Yugoslavia for the crimes committed against the Serbs.
“We expect this practice to change. I would rather not comment more, given that this topic in Kosovo and Metohija is misused in terms of some political games within internal political stage in Kosovo (…),” Dacic said.
Commenting on the statements of Hashim Thaci and Ramush Haradinaj regarding the International Court of Justice advisory opinion on Kosovo, Dacic said “it is regrettable that they won this international help using bad decision of (Boris) Tadic and (Vuk) Jeremic at that time, given that wrongly asked question produced such result,” Dacic said.
He added Belgrade would continue its struggle till the end, meaning it would fight to find just and a compromise solution to the Kosovo issue.
