Elderly Serb beaten up and arrested (RTS)
Serbian national public broadcaster RTS reports today that Kosovo police has beaten up and arrested 70-year old Vojislav Todorovic from Gnjilane, and prior to that they mistreated his wife at administrative crossing of Konculj, Office for Kosovo and Metohija said in a statement.
Todorovic family is one of the few Serb families still living in the Gnjilane town.
Director of the Office Marko Djuric said this was “a new example of permanent pressure against the Serbs and chauvinist relations by interim Pristina institutions towards the Serbian people and yet another evidence that Pristina’s aim is ethnically clean territory of Kosovo and Metohija.”
“I condemn in the strongest terms this uncivilized and barbaric behavior and urge representatives of the international community in the southern province to finally react and put an end to outpours of hatred towards the members of the Serbian community and arrests merely on the basis of ethnic background,” Djuric said in a statement.
