Serbian police gets third Airbus helicopter (SRNA, TV N1, RTS)
The Serbian police got its third Airbus H-145M helicopter on Tuesday at a ceremony at Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla airport, TV N1 reports.
Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic told the ceremony that the two Airbus helicopters which were delivered earlier are in use by the MUP helicopter unit, enhancing the capabilities of the police and allowing rapid response in emergency situations.
“These helicopters give our helicopter unit the status that few in the region have. We can do any job in a short time. We will have much better oversight of the state borders, terrain in emergency situations and support for police units in the field,” Stefanovic said. The minister added the fourth Airbus helicopter will be delivered next April.
Out of nine H-145M helicopters Serbia is purchasing from Airbus, five are intended to the Serbian Army and four to the police, RTS reported.
