Police raid several premises in Mitrovica North (Kosovapress)

Kosovo Police raided several premises in Mitrovica North on Thursday during a wide-scale operation against drugs and weapons. Zeljko Bojic, head of police operations in the north, told Kosovapress that the operation went according to plan and that there were no incidents. Kosovo Police deputy director for the north, Besim Hoti, said the police operation was successful even though no drugs or weapons were confiscated. “What is important is that we have conveyed a clear message to the people as far as preventing different criminal offences is concerned,” Hoti said.

A few hundred Albanians gathered last night in the southern part of Mitrovica, in support to the Albanian football team, after the football match between Serbia and Albania ended. Albanians chanted "Albania, Albania" and used some pyrotechnic products. At the same time, on the other side of the bridge, in North Mitrovica, Serbs gathered to watch what was happening. The head of Kosovo Police Operations, Zeljko Bojic, said in a statement to Radio Kontakt Plus that the tensions lasted only briefly, and there were no incidents.

 

 

 

 

Nuns from the Pec Patriarchate attacked (Pravda)

Beside Visoki Decani Monastery, radical Islamists attacked one of the greatest Serbian monasteries in Kosovo - the Patriarchate of Pec. Albanian Wahhabi screamed and insulted nuns, mostly old women from 70 to 90 years.

Escalation of the incident was prevented by The Police, which is guarding the Patriarchate. The investigation about the incident is on-going, as in the case of Decani Monastery, whose desecration was continued yesterday, when new graffiti reading ISIS and AKSH appeared at the entrance gate.

Kosovo Police confirms 15 arrests (Gazeta Blic)

Kosovo Police issued a press release today confirming that 15 persons were arrested in several locations. After several months of investigations and in cooperation with State Prosecution, Kosovo Police this morning conducted a country-wide operation to arrest people suspected of committing criminal offenses against the constitutional order and security in the Republic of Kosovo.

Suspect arrested for murder and attempted murder (RTK2)

Regional Head of Operations of the Kosovo Police Zeljko Bojic said that the police arrested in Lesak one person suspected of murder and attempted murder of another person.

Bojic told Tanjug that the suspect was arrested shortly after 23 pm on Saturday night and the police arrested five persons as part of this operation.

The suspect was arrested in a village Socanica in the north.

Prosecution confirms police are interviewing Imam Krasniqi (Koha)

The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has confirmed that Shefqet Krasniqi, Imam of the Grand Mosque in Pristina, is being interviewed by Kosovo Police. “The imam’s house was raided by Kosovo Police. For the time being, Krasniqi is being interviewed and there is no decision to detain him. We don’t know this will develop, it depends on the interview,” a statement issued by the Special Prosecution noted.
