Former US special envoy in the Contact Group (CG), Frank Wisner assessed that a decade after the CG tried to resolve the Kosovo issue, the situation on the ground has not changed, despite of Kosovo declaring independence in 2008, RTS reported.
He added, deadlines for reaching the final Belgrade-Pristina agreement should not be set, instead a lasting and compromise solution should be found through the dialogue.
The US ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott told reporters on Tuesday the situation regarding the European Union-mediated Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on normalisation of relations was extremely complicated, but that there was no benefit from the two sides blaming each other, the Beta news agency reported.
The ambassador said it was necessary for both sides to sit down and normalise the dialogue.
“The US and the EU are steering both sides in that direction,” Scoot said.
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic told the RTS in the "Oko" show, about the relations between Belgrade and Pristina, that the abolition of the tariffs is not in sight.
"I do not see that Pristina is thinking about acting constructively, in accordance with the time in which we live. Pristina is trying to sharpen the situation further and move away from the dialogue," Brnabic said.
French Ambassador to Serbia Frederic Mondoloni told TV N1 on
Thursday that his country’s President Emmanuel Macron should visit Serbia in
July, adding Paris wants “a strong Europe and a strong Serbia in the European
Union.”
At the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, held in Argentina's
capital, Buenos Aires, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic thanked countries
that did not recognize Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence and thus
supported the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of
Serbia, reported Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).
EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini says there are
two options for leaders in the Western Balkans - to target high or to do
nothing.
"If you are a political leader in a complicated country and a complicated region, you can choose to target high and achieve the best for your people and country, or to decide to wait for better times," Mogherini said.
Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic sees no reason for the process of Serbia's EU integration to slow down due to Pristina's moves.

Novosti that only way for the European Union to preserve the integral
inviolability and indivisibility of the negotiation process with Serbia is to
"evacuate the monitoring of the Brussels agreement from the negotiating
platform for Chapter 35."
First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic spoke with on Monday with representatives of the European Council on Foreign Affairs (ECFR).
According to the Serbian government, they discussed "the current state of affairs in relations between Serbia and the European Union in the process of our country's Eurointegration and the future of the dialogue Belgrade and Pristina."
Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Sem Fabrizi said the stance of the European Union is clear and there is no change in the format of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Tanjug news agency reported.
Asked to comment on a statement of the European Parliament Rapporteur for Serbia David McAllister on possible Russia and US involvement in the dialogue, Fabrizi said the stance is very clear, the EU is there to support the dialogue between the two sides and is doing so based on the mandate it received from the UN General Assembly.
Vice President of the Serbian List Dalibor Jevtic told TV Pink that the situation in Kosovo is still uncertain, and that Pristina does nothing to calm the tensions and continue the dialogue
Jevtic says Pristina, by adopting the platform on dialogue, further complicated the whole situation, and that uncertainty is deepened south and north of the Ibar, Tanjug reports.
