Turkish Consulate in Prizren attacked with Molotov cocktail (Koha)

The building of Turkey’s General Consulate in Prizren was attacked on Monday morning with Molotov cocktail, the news site reports. The attack caused only minor material damage. Chief Prosecutor of Prizren, Syle Hoxha, confirmed the news. “The building of the Turkish Consulate in Prizren was attacked this morning. No one was injured while the attack only caused minor material damage. The case is being investigated,” Hoxha said. According to him, five individuals were detained and are being questioned regarding the case.

Knežević: Montenegro has not forgotten the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija (Blic)  

President of the Democratic People's Party of Montenegro Milan Knežević said in Prizren that the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija are not alone and that Montenegro has not forgotten them. Knežević said that his desire was to send a message from Prizren, stating that Montenegrin people feel that K&M is their Jerusalem, a holy land. He expressed the gratitude to the church and the people in Kosovo and Metohija, which all these years preserved Serbian religion and spirituality.

Prizren Cultural Heritage Centre chairman Vesel Hoxha resigns (Koha)

The inability to stop the degradation of cultural heritage and local government irresponsibility, are among the reasons for the resignation of Vesel Hoxhaj from the position of the chairman of the Council for Cultural Heritage of the Historic Centre of Prizren, Koha reports.  Hoxhaj accused the institutions that they have done nothing to prevent the degradation of cultural monuments. “The underlying reason of my resignation is the inability of the Council, which I directed until today to prevent further degradation of cultural heritage.

Prizren: Opening of atrium and Cultural centre (KIM radio)

Renewed atrium and Cultural Centre which will promote, support and organize literature, painting, film and other artistic activities of Prizren will be open on Thursday, on Ascension Day, in the Church of St. Saviour in Prizren.

The reconstruction was performed by the Fresco Gallery of the National Museum in Belgrade, and helped by the Association of friends of the Monastery of the Holy Archangels near Prizren and the Association for Assistance to IDPs "Sveti Spas".

Home medical visits for mothers and children (Kosova Sot)

The Family Medicine Center in Prizren, supported by UNICEF, has begun with home medical visits for mothers and children. The director of the Medical Centre, Mehmedali Gashi, said that medical visits at home aim to improve the health of mothers and children. According to him, the Ministry of Health, and other institutions, NGOs and other partners, supported the development of an inclusive package on home visits for children and mothers, as a strategy for investment in healthy and productive future of all the communities .

Police: We had no information about Dokufest. Suspects were arrested for their support to terrorist organizations! (Gazeta Blic)

Kosovo Police spokesman Baki Kelani told Gazeta Blic that all persons arrested today are believed to have supported terrorist organizations. He said Kosovo Police had no reliable information that the suspects were planning to attack the cultural event “Dokufest” in Prizren. “We had no such details,” Kelani said. Gazeta Blic however quoted sources in Kosovo Police as saying that the suspects were planning to attack the event. One of the reasons for such an attack would be to attract international attention for their presence in Kosovo.
