UNSC to hold session on situation in Kosovo on Friday (Tanjug)

BELGRAD - The UN Security Council will on Friday hold a session on Kosovo to consider the latest report by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, during which Serbia's stands will be presented by First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.

In his regular quarterly report on the work of the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), Ban called upon the Kosovo authorities to speed up the establishment of the specialist court for war crimes and to redouble their efforts in strengthening a broad public consensus around this issue.

Thaci and Dacic to meet at the UNSC on 6 February (Lajmi)

Lajmi reports that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting on Kosovo will be held on 6 February. The news portal writes that this meeting will be a forerunner of the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue to be held in Brussels on 9 February. According to Lajmi, Kosovo and Serbia are expected to be represented by their respective Foreign Ministers Hashim Thaci and Ivica Dacic.

“Mothers’ cries” association irritated by Vucic’s speech at UNSC (Koha)

The “Mothers’ cries” association reacted on Sunday, to a statement made by Serbia Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic’s at the UN Security Council on 4 December, Koha reports. Koha writes that according to this association, Vucic accused Gjakova/Djakovica’s mayor, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, that she is preventing the return of Serbs in Gjakove/Djakovica. “Vucic at any moment did not mention the residents of Gjakove/Djakovica, that were murdered by Serbian authorities, whose remains are still missing,” stated the reaction.

The UN Security Council tomorrow on Kosovo (Vesti)

The UN Security Council tomorrow to discuss the situation in Kosovo on the basis of regular reports by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in which he expressed concern over the political deadlock in Pristina.

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic earlier had announced participation in the session in New York, and the outgoing Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci already went.

The coalition agreement is postponed (Radio Kosova)

Sources within the coalition parties, Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) told Radio Kosova that the agreement for the new government is going to be delayed due to the outgoing Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, travelling to New York. Thaci will attend the meeting of the United Nations Security Council, which will present its quarterly report on Kosovo on 4 December, Radio Kosova reports.

Kosovo ready to implement Resolution 1325 (Koha)

Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), lieutenant-general Kadri Kastrati, met with NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security, Marriet Schuurman, Koha reports. Schuurman stated that NATO will encourage the Kosovo institutions in the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) for implementing the UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325.

 A UN Security Council session on Kosovo that was scheduled to take place on November 13 has been postponed

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was to present his regular quarterly report on the situation in Kosovo.

According to the UN website, the meeting will not be held on Thursday.

The session has been deleted from the provisional schedule of UNSC sessions for the current month, but a new date has not yet been published.
