Rakic ​​rejects Borhard’s assessment on growing confidence in the EULEX (Blic)

Mayor of Kosovska Mitrovica north, Goran Rakic rejected the assessment of EULEX chief Bernd Borhart that residents of northern Kosovo are increasingly satisfied with the EU mission. “We, mayors from northern Kosovo and Metohija, and especially people who live in the north, are not satisfied with the work of EULEX, as claimed by Mr. Borhard. Of course that we all stand for the rule of law and are committed to getting free of the burden of organized crime, drug dealers and perpetrators of serious crimes, but these issues are not addressed by the EULEX courts and prosecution,” said Rakic.

Kosovo is in the institutional blockade. Dialogue in Brussels between Kosovo and Serbia is dysfunctional because of the blockade. Because of the blockade there is no continuation of work on the Special Tribunal for alleged war crimes of the KLA. Kosovo's image on the international scene fades. Kosovo faces the most dangerous radicalism, extremism and terrorism. Young Albanians go to Iraq and Syria without knowing who they are fighting for; they go because they see no perspective in Kosovo. Kosovo has problems with the recognition of independence.

Popovic: Kosovo Serbs to fight for their rights (Blic)

Director of the Office for communities of  Kosovo PM, Srdjan Popovic, believes that Serbs in Kosovo must fight for their rights that are violated. Popovic, who is an adviser to Kosovo Prime Minister, said that many rights of the Serbs are violated - from employment in public institutions, economic development, up to the problems of usurped property. In addition to it, the fate of the kidnapped and missing persons is not solved and conditions for the return of the displaced persons were not created.

Kidnapping of journalists in Kosovo without investigation (Blic)

The association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) and the Association of the Journalists of Kosovo and Metohija (DNKiM) will set on Thursday the memorial plaque, at the spot where on August 21, 16 years ago, were kidnap journalists of Radio Pristina, Djuro Slavuj and Ranko Perenić. They were kidnapped on the road Velika Hoca – Zočište, in Orahovac municipality. There is no solid evidence against Oliver Ivanovic (Blic)

Nebojsa Vlajic says to Blic the indictment against the CI SDP leader Oliver Ivanovic and four Serbs is based on unreliable witnesses’ testimonies and that there is no physical evidence. The testimonies were written on about 5,000 pages and handed to Ivanovic’s lawyer on Friday afternoon. Vlajić says for Blic that he received over eleven binders, each about four inches thick containing up to 500 pages of testimony. - These are statements of dozens of witnesses.

CI ‘SDP’: EULEX has double standards (Blic)

Citizens' Initiative ‘SDP’ whose leader Oliver Ivanovic was accused of involvement in the murders in 1999 and 2000 in Kosovo, criticized EULEX claiming that they have double standards towards Serbs and Albanians. The statement said that EULEX refused a request of Ivanovic’s lawyer to be released pending trial. At the same time EULEX accepted release pending trial for Ismet Haxha, one of the KLA members accused for war crimes, committed in Likovac in 1998 and 1999.

Search for another two mass-graves of Albanians (Blic)

Serbian War Crimes Prosecution ordered an inspection of the site at location Rudnica called ‘Padina 1’ and ‘Padina 2’, which are suspected of being mass-graves of Albanians killed during 1999 conflict. It is about the fourth order of the prosecution for inspection of location Rudnica, where 45 bodily remains have been discovered so far and which are believed to be of Kosovo Albanians. Parts of the quarry Rudnica near Raska (Serbia proper) were inspected in 2007 for the first time. Inspections have later been suspended and re-opened three years later and in 2011 and 2013.

Investigation against the General Dragan Zivanovic for crimes against Albanians in 1999 (Blic)

War Crimes Prosecution has launched an investigation against the General of the Yugoslav Army Dragoslav Zivanovic, Commander of the 125 Motorized Brigade, for crimes committed against Albanian civilians in Kosovo villages Cuska, Pavljan, Ljubenic and Zahac in 1999.

Zivanovic is charged for omitting to prevent the killings of at least 118 Albanian civilians, heavy bodily injuries of 13 people, destruction of 40 houses, robbery and expulsion.
