Vucic: To reach a deal with Albanians for benefit of all (BETA)

Belgrade-Pristina dialogue should continue since an eventual solution will have a positive effect on the whole region, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said during a joint press conference with the presidents of Kosovo, Slovenia, Austria, and EU official in Austria on Sunday, BETA news agency reported.

Vucic added he said during the meeting with his Kosovo counterpart Hashim Thaci, mediated by the Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurtz and the EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn that “It (finding solution) will not go easily.”

Serbian National Forum: Support to the Serbian Orthodox Church, ’no’ to partition (KoSSev)

The Serbian National Forum held a round-table “Delimitation, small Serbia – great Albania” in Gracanica yesterday, KoSSev portal reported.

Members of the Serbian National Forum, civil society organizations’ representatives and politicians, including former Kosovo Assembly deputies Rada Trajkovic and Nenad Rasic were present. During the roundtable the following conclusions were reached:

Foggo: "I'd be glad to hear plans of Vucic and Thaci" (Blic, B92)

Commander of the Allied Joint Force Command in Naples, Admiral James G. Foggo, said this in an interview for the Serbian daily Blic.

He added that there was intent to have a broader discussion with the EU within the September dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

Admiral Foggo also said the people had to use their right to vote and express their opinion in the elections and not with violence in the streets. Those who want piece, NATO would be there if asked for help, and for the rest who had "ulterior motives" NATO " would be there if necessary".

Serbian List: Dragutin Sava Janjic is no longer spiritual father (RTV)

Serbian List (SL) issued a press release on Wednesday in which they said that Father Dragutin (Sava) Janjic, the Abbot of Visoki Decani Monastery, with the statements against his country and the efforts to resolve the problems in KiM through compromise and dialogue, ceased to be a clergyman and became a participant in a political life, RTV reports.

SL pointed out that “now, Dragutin (Sava) Janjic, laments and complains because anyone dares to criticize and refutes his political views”.

The Holy Archbishop’s Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) after the summer recess should hold a session on 30 August, however, it remains unclear whether the Synod would deal with attacks of the state officials against Raska-Prizren Eparchy Bishop Teodosije and Abbot of Visoki Decani Monastery, Father Sava Janjic, Danas daily reports today.

Ljajic: Next Vucic-Thaci meeting crucial (BETA, Prva TV)

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Telecommunications, Rasim Ljajic told Prva TV the next Vucic-Thaci meeting in Brussels is crucial to resolving the Kosovo issue.

According to Ljajic, after this meeting it would be known if the issue is resolved or it would be yet another failed attempt. He also opined that Kosovo President Hashim Thaci is in a more difficult position than Vucic, since in Kosovo everybody is against the resolution of the Kosovo issue.

“Serbia should rather give Metohija to Montenegro than to Albania” (B92)

Army of Montenegrin King Nikola liberated and took over the territory of current Metohija during the Balkan war (1912), Nebojsa Medojevic, Montenegrin politician and member of opposition Democratic Front wrote on his Twitter profile, B92 reported.

“Therefore, if Serbia wants to give Metohija as a gift to Albania, it is historically right that Montenegro must claim this territory, since delineation opens the process,” Medojevic added.

He recalled that territories shown in a map of so-called natural Albania, are in fact Montenegrin, not the opposite.
