The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, hosted today a meeting with the European Parliament delegation, which will participate at the meeting of the EU-Kosovo Parliamentary Commission for the Stabilization Association Agreement (SAA). A press release issued by the Office of the Prime Minister informs that the EU delegation lead by Tonino Picula, is comprised of Ulrike Lunacek, Dubravka Suica, Tanja Fajon, Jozo Rados, Georgios Kyrtsos and Julie Ward.

Mustafa informed the delegation about the progress reached in Kosovo, especially on the economic development, EU integration processes and Kosovo’s membership at the EU and international organizations.

Stressing the importance of the SAA, Mustafa said that this contractual document opens a strong economic and political perspective for Kosovo, including those of other European processes considering the recommendation for visa liberalization.

Mustafa spoke about concrete steps of the government on the implementation of the SAA so that it produces effects on all areas.

Mustafa also stressed the government’s priority on strengthening the rule of law, war against corruption and organized crime, as well as the removal of the stain of corruption and stigmatization that has been given to Kosovo. “The Government of Kosovo and the citizens of this country are determined in implementing the Euro-integration reforms and empowering the state of Kosovo and its progress,” said Mustafa.

MPs of the European Parliament gave their assessment and suggestions on the processes related to the implementation of the SAA and other developments and expressed their support for Kosovo on these matters.
