Head of the European Union Office in Pristina, Nataliya Apostolova said firmly during a press conference today that combating of crime and corruption are conditions for liberalisation of visas.

She said that progress has been made on this direction, however, she also mentioned the condition of the demarcation of the border with Montenegro, saying that there will be no visas without conclusion of this issue.

Apostolova said that Kosovo is not being conditioned during its road toward EU, and that conditions and standards are the same for all the countries.

“There have been some improvements in the war against corruption and organized crime and we congratulate you for this report. But there is nothing that is discriminating the population of Kosovo compare to the other countries of the region. Conditioning and standards were set during the negotiating process. Kosovo has agreed and fulfillment of these criteria depend on the leading politicians,” she said.

“It remains for Kosovo now to fulfill its first condition, which is demarcation with Montenegro. If we want to punish anyone, then it should be the politicians that did not undertake the required actions for fulfillment of these conditions,” Apostolova said.
