All news websites report that following his meeting today with representatives of political parties, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said that early parliamentary elections will be held on 11 or 18 June. “I listened to the opinions of 20 political parties and in my capacity as President I will respect it. In the next couple of days, I will announce the date of elections in consultation with the Central Election Committee,” Thaci said after the meeting. Several news websites note that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has boycotted the meeting with Thaci. Bajram Gecaj, advisor to outgoing Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, told Telegrafi news agency that the LDK boycotted the meeting because the PDK broke the coalition agreement and that the LDK does not recognize Thaci as President.
