Mayor of North Mitrovica and President of the Serbian list Goran Rakic met yesterday Head of the European Union Election Observation Mission Alojz Peterle, reports Kontakt plus radio.
Rakic pointed out that one of the major problems of the municipality was the issue of the civil registry books that North Mitrovica municipality still do not have. He appealed to the representatives of the European Union to help in resolving this issue which has been going on for years and that it represented a major obstacle in the work of the municipality, but also the life of the citizens.
EU EOM presented to Mayor Rakic a report with recommendations which the monitoring mission prepared after the recently held local elections in Kosovo, Kontakt plus radio reported.
