Representatives of Kosovo institutions have been voicing their distrust towards the European Union and its officials for a while now by accusing it of a number of issues, including for siding with Serbia, RFE reports quoting political analysts.
Artan Muhaxhiri said the main reason behind Pristina leaders’ signs of mistrust towards the EU is that they had greater expectations from the dialogue with Serbia and also expected greater progress in the European integration process. “I think a middle ground needs to be found,” Muhaxhiri said adding that the Kosovo side should position itself in a way so as to not impair relations with the EU while at the same time not undermining the dignity of its institutions.
European Commission spokesperson Maja Kocijancic meanwhile told RFE that she will soon respond to the criticism of the EU by Kosovo institutional officials.
