Several news websites report that Kosovo Police today have arrested Imer Shahini, a businessman from Kosovo, who is wanted by U.S. authorities for his suspected involvement in multi-million-dollar frauds. A police spokesman confirmed the arrest, saying the suspect was arrested based on an international warrant and that he has been sent to detention. Telegrafi learns from its sources that Shahini is the brother-in-law of Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj. The news website also notes that on Thursday, Kosovo’s Minister of Justice Abelard Tahiri and the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Palmer signed an extradition protocol between the two countries.
