Kosovo Assembly Speaker Jakup Krasniqi received the president of the Senate of the Kingdom of Netherlands Fred de Graaf.

Speaking about the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Krasniqi said he doesn’t expect much from these talks and added that any decision regarding the north outside the Ahtisaari package would be unacceptable.

Since there are no complete information yet from yesterday’s meeting, Assembly Speaker Jakup Krasniqi did not want to preempt the result of the meeting.

Asked if after possible disbanding of parallel structures there is a possibility for giving a broader autonomy to those exact structures within Kosovo institutions, Krasniqi said exceeding Ahtisaari’s package will not be accepted.

“Neither the international community, nor the European community or representative of Kosovo said that the comprehensive document of Ahtisaari will be exceeded, a document that has been accepted by us and offers a standard solution for the minority community in Kosovo. We also have a resolution as well as the Constitution and I am sure that those in talks cannot go beyond these documents”, he said.

The President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Netherlands Fred de Graaf said they are following the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue process which, according to them should have results as a precondition for EU integration

“We all know that the road to EU is long and a lot of work is needed to move towards European integration. We are following with interest developments in Brussels between representatives of Kosovo and Serbia because I am convinced that this dialogue is the most important precondition in your journey to European Union”, he said.
