Alternativa leader Mimoza Kusari-Lila said in an interview to KTV on Wednesday that it is unclear if Kosovo will go to early parliamentary elections and that she believes there is a scenario to find “a solution without elections”. “Although the opposition believes that elections are necessary, and before the August 22 meeting to disband the Assembly, as an MP I find it hard believe that there will be no attempts to find a solution without going to elections. There is total silence and a date that is over a month removed from Haradinaj’s resignation of the Prime Minister post … I think this will show how sovereign we are and how much democracy functions in Kosovo. If a solution is reached without going to elections, then we will see that this was recommended in different ways because of the country’s interests … Experience so far in Kosovo has shown that the silence of the international community in such circumstances can produce something outside elections … We will see if the political parties are the ones that decide or if it someone else in the background,” she added.
