Kosovo’s outgoing Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said today that “the contract with the citizens of Kosovo” is more important than personal interests. “The contract of every leader with the people and the state is a contract with the Constitution and the laws. This contract can be implemented only by stable leaders who put the state and the citizen before any personal interest,” Haradinaj wrote in a Facebook post. “Sustainability based on what is right and consistency in policymaking strengthens Kosovo’s integrity and sovereignty and brings about change. Submission over personal and group interests, compromises and unsustainable policies that fall in contravention with vital, national and state interests, result in tragic consequences for our country and our future. Only democracy and the will of the people can and should challenge ever leader and determine their political future”.
