Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said Serbia would continue pursuing its policy resulting in revoking recognitions of Kosovo independence, adding that by doing so Serbia does not want to irritate Pristina or the international community, but simply to protect its interests, FoNet news agency reports.

Commenting on Quint states’ message to Belgrade to cease campaign for revoking recognitions of Kosovo Dacic said it indicates that (revoking of recognitions) is true and it hurts them.

“They said the revoking of recognitions was not true. And suddenly, it turned into a condition that Pristina revokes the tariffs, and Serbia ceases the campaign for revoking recognitions. It means it hurts, it means it is true,” Dacic told TV Pink.

He noted not much importance should be attached to the Quint’s statement, adding these stances have been repeated several times.

Dacic also said the stance that Serbia with its campaign for revoking recognitions of Kosovo irritates Pristina is a reflection of an old-policy towards Serbia.

“It is their wish that Kosovo becomes member of the international organizations and is recognized by as many states, while Serbia should play no role at all there and should only welcome it,” Dacic underlined. Dacic said it was nowhere written in the Quint’s statement that they would cease lobbying for the independence of Kosovo.

He also confirmed US President National Security Adviser John Bolton would not come to the earlier announced visit to Serbia. According to Dacic, the visit was cancelled because the problem is in Pristina, which refuses to revoke the tariffs on goods from Serbia.
