Kosovo’s outgoing Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj during a press conference in Pristina this morning commented on news for the dismissal of U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton, who was portrayed by some local media as an opponent of Kosovo’s independence. “I have great respect for Ambassador Bolton, he was a front-line man for the U.S. As far as the Balkans and Kosovo are concerned, I think that mistakes were made in the Balkans and not in Washington. Wrong suggestions were made to Washington from certain leaders in the Balkans, clearly from [Serbian] President Vucic but mistakes were made by others too,” he said. “I am confident that the U.S. will always be by Kosovo’s side. No one in the U.S. is in favour of Kosovo’s partition”. Haradinaj also commented on the import tariff on Serbian products, saying that it would be lifted only when Serbia recognises Kosovo’s independence. “Everyone knows this,” he added.
