Ngadhnjim Kastrati, Director General of the Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK), reacted today to a press release issued by the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) on Tuesday in which it criticised the public broadcaster of “applying censorship”. “RTK calls on all political parties to stop their pressure on the Public Broadcaster and to focus on their campaigns. RTK has the exact same staff that covered previous election campaigns, a staff with extensive experience in covering election campaigns,” Kastrati said in his reaction. He added that the attack on RTK only days before the October 6 parliamentary elections “is nothing but pure political pressure and a tendency to interfere in the editorial policies of the RTK”. “We call on EU mechanisms and associations of journalists to condemn this attack on the public broadcaster,” Kastrati added.
