Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) candidate for Prime Minister, Vjosa Osmani, said in an interview to Radio Europe Europe that after the October 6 parliamentary elections, the LDK will not form a ruling coalition with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and that it aims to co-govern with the Vetevendosje Movement (VV). “We have a decision of our General Assembly that rules out any possible coalition with the PDK … I think we need to look into the possibility of creating a coalition with the Vetevendosje Movement. There are certainly topics on which we don’t fully agree, but I am optimistic that after our victory in the elections, we can meet with Vetevendosje and reach an agreement on our joint governance,” she said. Asked about the dialogue with Serbia, Osmani said that “Serbia has committed genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Kosovo an it has not apologised or admitted these crimes, it has not paid war reparations, and there are still 1,700 missing from Kosovo, we cannot pretend that this never happened. Therefore, my goal is to include these issues as priorities in the process of dialogue because I believe that there cannot be peace without justice first”. She said unity among the political landscape on the dialogue with Serbia is crucial for Kosovo. Asked about the import tariff on Serbian goods, Osmani said “we will sit at the table, but we will in no way accept Serbia’s conditions for resuming dialogue. No party should set conditions. We will sit at the table and then discuss our trade relations, including the tariff”.
