Political commentator Shkelzen Maliqi took to Facebook to comment on the results of Sunday’s early parliamentary elections. “A non-euphoric conclusion on the sovereign’s vote. It has decided to share the vote in three almost equal shares: LVV, LDK and the former coalition PAN which was punished, share from the Albanian electorate around 33 percent each and the remaining 1 percent will make the difference, because it will deservedly go to the party that has not been tested in power, the LVV … The punishment of PAN is absolute, but the undisputed winner LVV is relative, therefore, it has to share power with the second party, if they find the formula of approximating programs, the manner of governance and repairing the seriously-damaged relations with the U.S. and the EU. If this is ignored, we could face problems again. The sovereign’s vote guides for reforms and pragmatism, not revolution,” Maliqi writes.
