The Pristina-based Council for the Defense of Human Rights and Freedoms (CDHRF) has issued a reaction to a recent statement by former Kosovo MP Rada Trajkovic who claimed that the lives of LDK and Vetevendosje candidates for Prime Minister, Vjosa Osmani and Albin Kurti, could be in danger, news websites report. The CDHRF said Trajkovic’s remarks are ill-willed and concerning. “If she were to say that Albin Kurti and Vjosa Osmani’s lives were at risk from Serbia and Serb extremists that killed Oliver Ivanovic, it would have been a good-will news, because she could have information from Serbia. Rada Trajkovic however claims the ‘threat’ to Albin and Vjosa’s lives comes from the wing of war, which according to Ms. Trajkovic lost the elections and could therefore threaten the lives of the two candidates for Prime Minister. At the same time, Serbian List officials have publicly stated they are very concerned with Albin Kurti because he has upset Aleksandar Vucic whom they consider their leader. According to the CDHRF, Ms. Trajkovic’s statement is ill-willed and is not based on any fact, and it contains a dangerous message for inciting conflict between the winners of the elections (LVV and LDK) and those that lost the elections (PDK and AAK),” the statement notes. The CDHRF also called on Trajkovic to send any possible facts about her claims to the Kosovo Police and the State Prosecution.
